I am taking over another company that already has an SNBVE allocation. All future books will be published under my publisher's name. Can I renumber all of the other company's titles?

Not until they are digitally reproduced under your own publisher's name or imprint and carry your publisher's name — at that point, you can assign SNBVEs from your own allocation to the books. Before that, the books must continue to use the original publisher's existing SNBVEs

What happens if I have used up all of the numbers under my identifier prefix?

An additional identifier prefix can be assigned — allowing for a larger output if needed. This is an additional identifier prefix and not a replacement.

We have changed our publishing name and will no longer use our old publishing name in the future. What happens to our SNBVEs?

You must notify the SNBVE Agency that you have changed your publishing name so that they can register this new name in your existing SNBVE allocation. You must continue to assign any remaining unused SNBVEs to books you publish under your new name. If you  release a new edition or new format of a book you previously published under your previous name, then you must assign a separate SNBVE from your allocation to this version. You must also state the name of your new publisher on the title page, the back of the title (copyright page), the cover, the spine, and anywhere else where the publisher's name is given.
